I live in Singapore, have done so for the longest part of  my life and may live here for the rest of my life. Or perhaps not because as the world grows simultaneously bigger (more countries are opening up) and smaller (because communication links via land, sea, air and cyberspace get more affordable and plentiful, Singapore is no longer the the only oasis it once was in the East. Now the list of places competing to be my 2nd home is getting longer. The list offers both comfort and security but at perhaps 1/3 or even 1/2 the price I’ve to pay in S’pore.
